I just search in Google. I type "ar15.com" and follow it by whatever I'm searching for. It seems to work pretty well.

You asked a question, and you received a good answer, which wasn't the one you wanted obviously.

Everyone has the same site search problems as you, and everyone (I think) agrees the site search is lacking.

Google will always return the results you seek.

Search within a specific site

Precede your query with site: if you know you want your answer from within a specific site or type of site (.org, .edu). For example: site:edu or site:nytimes.com.
