For some reason I have been liking the Ford Taurus Limited lately... What does GD have to say about them?

Unfortunately the SHO is not an option...

Ugly rear end.

good looking front end.  Surprised Aston Martin hasn't sued them yet.

Rear is a little deck high but allows for a huge trunk.. Gonna have to agree the front end looks good. Very comfortable and drives good for a sedan, wife hates it as her department is switching from the crown vic.

No SHO, no go.

Though, I'd rather see that bad ass V6 in an AWD Fusion.

AWD is expensive, and IMHO, not worth the mileage drop.  For the 10 days a year that I truly need it, I'll just drive my Suburban.

I test drove a 2015 SEL yesterday.  Biggest gripe is the wide center console that eats into your right leg's space.

I'm definitely getting the sunroof - the high belt line and gunslit windows make the interior a bit claustrophobic.

The 3.5 v-6 and the 6-speed are a good match.  The steering is a bit on the heavy side, but it has good on-center feel.  It's a large car, so don't expect it to handle like a Miata, but it does handle curves with minimal body roll.  Body is bank-vault tight.

If you're looking at the limited, you might as well go all the way for the SHO.  I'll be ordering an SEL in the next month or so.

My Wife and I have had 2 over the years, transmissions went out in both right around 40k miles, that was around 97-98.

The passenger side axle shafts like to pop out of the trans on the awd models.

Durability has been suspect in fleet use so far. Proceed with caution.

Ford owns part of Aston Martin.  Maybe not anymore.  Looks like they worked together on the Fusion recently though.

I am buying a year old car... Just don't want to drop the coin on the SHO. It will mostly be for work lots of highway driving in FL.

Yeah I hear ya. I test drive the police version and was very impressed with it.  I was very tempted to buy an SHO after that. But I got a 12' CTS-V now. I still would love to own an SHO still. It puts the power down perfectly. I hope ford adds more hp to it though.

Can you get the 3.5L Ecoboost in any other package than the SHO? If so, get it.

I can tell you don't know how to go around corners. You must like understeer.

Yeah, I don't know how to go around corners.  Those SCCA rallies I drove in my younger years were strictly straight line events.

I said it didn't have much body roll.  How does that equate with cornering?  It's a fucking Taurus, not a Corvette or Ferrari, and it's FWD.  Of course it's going to understeer.  In fact, it probably plows better than an F350 with a Boss on it.

You have to be a person of shorter status to drive a current Taurus...I felt boxed in, no room for my knees and my head hit the roof with the sunroof option.  Looking out the rear window was a small joke...

I was in the SHO and wanted it badly...

I almost bought one last week, as a matter of fact.

But the fucking dealer wouldn't budge an inch from his $21K price tag (on a 2011, no less!).

So, I bought an '08 Cadillac CTS from another place instead!

I'd have preferred the FWD of the Taurus (and the massaging driver's seat!), but the CTS suits me just fine.

Besides . . . it's a Cadillac!

Negative Ghost rider. The Fusion "SHO" should have the twin turbo 2.3L 4 from the upcoming 'Stang - over 300hp

I like the look.

I dont like the poor visibility and cramped interior, despite being such a large car.

The drivers seat was fine for me I'm 6'1  the back seat could use more space and the rear window was quite small.
