[ARCHIVED THREAD] - Lost (Page 1 of 2)

| Does this show ever stop with the goddamn flashbacks? |
| yeah, the flashbacks are annoying as fuck. They always happen at the time when you just want to see what's happening on the island. it would have been better if they weren't as ill-timed. Like "right in the middle of the fucking action you want to see the conclusion of" ill timed. Pissed me off so bad I couldn't finish the show the second time I tried. |

Lost sucks, speaking as someone who was addicted to it.
After the first episode 95% of the audience formulated the same theory. The writers said that was too obvious, keep watching, there was more in play. After many years of flashbacks, the original theory winds up being the answer all along. |
|
Quoted: It all makes sense in the end... I think I have the mystery of this show figured out already. It's so me kind of experiment where they are watching people who get stranded like lab rats. What they think is fate that has drawn them there is actually careful manipulation of their lives to bring them to this point.

A buddy of mine is hopelessly in love with the show, and he convinced me to Netflix it. After the first episode, I had it figured out, but he kept saying, "No, just wait... there's more!" So I kept watching. Sure, Evangeline Lilly's ass is a great enticement to keep watching, but I kept on asking, "When does that 'more' part happen?" It never did. Just random plot twists thrown in by shitty writers to try and act like a smokescreen, to disguise the fact that the show actually had no plot at all. Kinda like "Seinfeld", only not funny. That said, what's the over-under on whether or not Evangeline Lilly will get caught up in the whole "nude photo hack/leak" scandal? 'Cause I'd buy that for a dollar... |

Discussed and confirmed a million times. Can't argue without spoiling but I don't buy the showrunner's explanation of the ending, years after the fact. He just felt how hard people hated the ending and revised it Lucas style to mean something else. "We were just killing time between commercials" doesn't cover it IMHO. OP will have to suffer through it and find out. |

DD Yeah....they're dead the whole time. That's why people in the show die. They're just dying again. And all the babies being born...they're just being born dead. What? |

Very good show, esp. early on, great characters and very good casting... concluded with the lamest of lame cop-out endings, made me regret every single minute invested in everything leading up to it. If ever I felt cheated by a TV series, this was it. YMMV. This! After the last episode, I wanted all my time back. |

God that show is terrible. If you like it even a little stop now, because chances are you won't by the time you finish it. There are flashes of brilliance in the writing, but ultimately it turns out you're getting jerked around for six seasons. By the end anything that was good or intriguing is either completely destroyed or disregarded. ETA: They're NOT all dead, at least not in the main timeline. |

Quoted: NO IT DOESNT Quoted: Quoted: It all makes sense in the end... NO IT DOESNT This. The friend of mine who talked (trolled) me into watching it kept telling me it would get better and that the ending was amazing. When I finally finished it he asked what I thought of the ending. I told him it was the stupidest thing I had ever seen and he says, "I know, right?! I was so bad." Fucker |

Eject now.
Lost proposes interesting questions, and answers none of them. It resorts to silly gimmicks to work its way out of dead-end plots. Its creators steadfastly refuse to admit that the obvious theory that others here mentioned and alluded to is correct. The last episode of the series is one of the biggest dick punches of all time. Oh, and when the other characters tell Kate to stay behind on the beach, SHE SHOULD STAY ON THE GODDAMN BEACH. |

Yup, the viewers figured out where it was all headed and the writers lied about it and said the viewers were wrong. |
