Cuban med. team heading to Africa.
"HAVANA -- Members of a Cuban medical brigade will begin arriving in Ebola-struck Sierra Leone at the beginning of October. Cuba's Public Health Minister Roberto Morales announced today. He said the 165-member team will include 62 doctors and 103 nurses." Think the commies will screw this up? I don't think this will go the way they think it will. |

I'm sure our Dear Leader has already asked several people to devise a strategies to defeat ebola and will choose one when the options are fully developed and presented to him.
With the Dear Leader at the helm, America can't go wrong! |
|
It will come here and the government will save us . Of course they will bring ebola also
|

|
Are you sure? You are here, but where am I? I cant seem to find myself... Oh crap I MUST be in a FEMA camp!!
|

More than half the reason Ebola is so bad is because of the culture its victims come from. They don't trust or understand "Western" (i.e., modern) medicine, and they live much more closely with death than we do. Unless the bug mutates and becomes airborne, the American (and other modern) medical system will contain it quickly.

We'll see if the propaganda surrounding Cuba's medical program is as good as their actual practice.

From the Daily Mail,
A greater number of people exposed to the Ebola virus than the four publicly identified patients have been evacuated to the United States. Dent Thompson, vice president of Phoenix Air Group, a private company contracted by the State Department to transport the patients back to the U.S. says many more people who had an 'exposure event' have been flown from West Africa by his company. I've already got a bottle of Tequila, a gas mask and full magazines ready to go. I'm going to shoot anyone who doesn't look right.
Wait, is this the Ferguson thread? Oh sorry. Nevermind!

I figured that they would just start bringing in Ebola infected people and declare them refugees.

Quoted: The us government FLEW IT IN. right IN TO Atlanta... View Quote They brought it to Omaha too. And it appears that as a result of having the two patients in Atlanta at the CDC labs, they have developed a serum which negates Ebola's effects. They just last week cured an American doctor who was sick with it in Africa. They brought him to Omaha and gave him transfusions of the other doctor's blood. Dr. Rick Sacra, an American aid worker stricken with Ebola in Liberia, is making a remarkable recovery, his wife and doctors said Thursday. One reason could be transfusions of blood plasma he received from Dr. Kent Brantly, a fellow missionary who recovered from the disease. Dr. Sacra received two infusions of plasma from Dr. Brantly last weekend, according to Dr. Phil Smith, the medical director of the special biocontainment unit at the Nebraska Medical Center in Omaha, where Dr. Sacra is being treated. It is thought that Dr. Brantly, who was infected in Liberia and recovered at Emory University Hospital in Atlanta, has antibodies in his blood that would be effective against the virus and would help Dr. Sacra. "We are hoping it jump-started his immunity,” Dr. Smith said during a news conference at the medical center. |

I don't think this will go the way they think it will. View Quote There are about 200,000 Africans from countries hosting the deadly Ebola virus who hold temporary visas to visit the United States, greatly raising the stakes it could spread to America, according to a group following the immigration issue. “Based on State Department nonimmigrant visa issuance statistics, I estimate that there are about 5,000 people in Guinea, 5,000 people in Sierra Leone, and 3,500 people in Liberia who possess visas to come to the United States today,” said Jessica M. Vaughan, director of policy studies at the Center for Immigration Studies. Add to that “more than 195,000 Nigerians” with visas to visit, or who could already be here, she said of the country that has seen temporary U.S. visas skyrocket. The government has promised that the U.S. is safe, but that’s not good enough for Vaughan. “At this time, with an extremely serious public health threat and more than 200,000 people who potentially could enter and spread it, either knowingly or unknowingly, the State Department and Department of Homeland Security should disclose to the public what they are doing to prevent travelers infected with Ebola from entering the country,” she told Secrets. The Ebola crisis is also drawing attention to citizens from Guinea, Sierra Leone and Liberia who overstay their visas. Vaughan said that the overstay rate of those from Ebola-impacted nations should be a concern. Something tells me the OP doesn't know, nor understand the Cuban health care system!
ETA: Also! It has already happened! There have been more than ever will be reported people coming in to the US, after being exposed in the affected countries! Just read about a patient in Sacramento Ca, that was quarantined! I will look for a link! Link here Though it appears he tested negative! If you can trust that info! |

We have almost 200 people there. The whole 9 yards, doctors, logistics, communications, drivers, etc. from the CDC.
Not sure why it isn't in the news. My Facebook friends from CDC are posting pics of their trip. |

The Cubans use sanitariums the size of small cities to control disease that is likely to get off the rails.
We should, too. |
