I have a dag that is a bad boy. Every time another animal is shown on TV he freaks out and barks like a crazy dag. I don't like it. No sir. What do I do to get him to relax?

He is a Yorkie.

Feed him good. Fatten him up....for TEOTWAWKI.

Truss him, fill with some gooooood walnut stuffing.

Add some sage and rosemary.

Bake at 425 for around 3 hours.....Have some fresh cranberrys cooking on the stove, with some oranges, cinnamon, and allspice.

Take out of the oven, cool down, and ENJOY the quiet of the evening!

That will probably only reinforce the behavior, like dogs chasing cars.

Crazy hair trigger barking is not a flaw, it is a feature.

You should put him down.

Not really. I just wanted to be "that guy" for once.

My cairn is the same way, but he is getting much better.  Used to bark at any animal, now I swear he watches TV when there are animals on.   Only thing he HATES is Duke from the baked beans commercials.  Talking dogs just PO him.

We have to learn how to talk to them so they understand.
Dog obedience school isn't really for the dog.  See if there's
one near you.  They can teach you how to teach him.

Exercise is key to solving 80% of dog behavioral issues. If he's adequately exercised, he will be calm.
