Regret it?

I've been going back and forth now for a while about getting a S&W Shield. A few friends have them and really like them. So... Today I went to look around at the shop. I wound up getting rid of a Sig 938 that I like but it just doesn't carry right for me AIWB and I don't pocket carry. I wound up getting a Shield. But as soon as I got home, even though I like it, regret it and wish I had gotten a Glock 26 gen 4 instead.

I figure... Since I got it... I'll give it a shot and if I really don't want it in a month sell it toward a 26.

Gen 3 G19, Does it work yes, do bricks feel better in my hand, absolutely.

My hands are pretty much absolutely average for a male, if it can feel like crap in my hand [including the finger grooves that are not even close for normal male hands] then I can't be alone.

Just wasn't a Glock 17

I like mine. If I can hit it with my Glocks, I can hit it with my Shield.
I have two ways to carry it, one is a Winthrop leather holster, very comfortable,
and the other is one of those belt clip things that adhere to the frame with 3M tape.
that allows me to carry it IWB with no holster. pretty secure and hides very well.
the clip thing is situated so that I can still use the leather holster.
I bought the Winthrop because it has more rake to it.

I like the Shield enough that I`m looking at a M&P 45c.

I bought a seven-shot S&W 686 3" in .357 Mag for about $685 new maybe 18 months ago. It looked nice, carried really nice... Then I realized after a week that I was carrying a wheel gun as my primary CCW. No go. Found a guy in EE that wanted one for his wife and traded him for his Spike's Factory Midlength. About a month later, I convinced a buddy to swap me the Spike's for his immaculate 70-series Gold Cup. I'm still not sure which of us got the better end of that deal- I love that pistol.

As long as it's more expensive than the previous purchase, of course.

The only time I've regretted buying a gun is at a gun show when you just blew your cash, and then you see something you REALLY want.

I hate Glocks, so I guess that's why I love my Shield.

And I did regret buying that WASR I used to have, although not right away. It was later on when I realized that the barrel was bored off to one side.
I still don't know how I missed that when I was looking it over before I bought it.

Springfield Armory's SAR 8 (HK 91 copy), it had a built in rail if I remember correctly. I had only seen pics of it in magazines. Got one ordered in and as soon as I opened the box, hated the finish on it and the thicker receiver then a HK 91 . Immediately put up for re-sale.

Some of my regrets
1. Ruger super Blackhawk hunter - couldn't get used to the grip angle , went back to my 29 . I guess I'm not a single action guy . I would like to try a Redhawk
2. M& P 45 ( lots of people like it , but I didn't )
3. M&P 9c plus $125 of apex parts (and I still shoot my 26 better )

USP .45 full size.

I sold it IMMEDIATELY.  Well...it took a few weeks, but I got my money back...WAY too big...bigger than I had thought.

I bought it online mistakenly thinking it was the USPc that I had held a year or two ago.

Bought the 45c to replace it once I sold the USP

Shortest time I've ever owned a gun was 24 hours last year.  S&W 642. Miserable gun. Hated it.
Second was about 3 days.  M&P 9mm. Did nothing for me.
Third was about two weeks.  HK93. Cool gun.  Did nothing for me.

Only a couple times. I bought a really nice stainless/synthetic Remington Model 7 in 243 once at lunch. It was a hell of a deal. Already had one though and regretted spending the money immediately. Luckily one of my coworkers bought it in the parking lot at getting off time so I didn't even get home with it. Made his son one happy kid too!

The Shield is a useful and good gun. You will probably like it.

I'm well aware of that, I've seen plenty of 'sploded XD's also (of which I have 2). Still, I found it pretty satisfying to mess with that Sgt. yesterday. He's always completely full of it every time I talk to him and tries to one up everybody's story. I asked him if he "had to form 1 that hand grenade" , then while he was telling me how that doesn't happen to MPD's Glocks- I showed him the picture. The look on his for-once speechless face was awesome.

Back when I had a C&R, I'd order guns late at night when I was 3 sheets to the wind and then forget about it.  A few days later, I'd be signing for some firearms, wondering how much I was gonna regret it.

Nope.

But all my guns either have a purpose, or are specifically purchased so I have an example of something.

Some of the latter are piss-poor shooters. Oh well, I don't get that torn up about it.

Whoops.

Forgot entirely about that fucking Sig Mosquito.

I didn't regret that immediately, but about 50% misfires later...
