I just got my ammo in about 30 mins ago just finished moving all 5000something rounds.  UPS just left it outside the front door, I thought they were not supposed to do that, am I correct¿

It did get here quickly and doesnt look messed up atleast, now I got to go shooting real soon I want to try that cool looking silverbear 762x39

Yes, they do that. My friend gets it left on his front porch all the time. They do not, however, as a rule leave weapons. He has to go pick them up at the ware house.

You can call ups and have them note that your address shouldn't have anything left sitting outside.

UPS has left just about every package outside my door (usually ammo or reloading components). Though I can't remember if Fed Ex left the M1 Garand from the CMP outside as well. It doesn't really bother me cuz the neighborhood i live in is a pretty good one.

Dude,

UPS ALWAYS leaves my packages outside the front door, and my wife is home most days.  They have never yet even rang the doorbell or knocked.  Just be glad they didn't trash the stuff too.  I just had a gun case smashed up Ace Ventura-style on its way to me (the orginal movie - watch the opening).  The case is missing a big (12" diameter) chunk thanks to their delivery and handling service.

As long as the printed label doesn't read 'Signature Required' or 'Adult Signature Required' they can and will leave it.  It shouldn't be left out in the weather without being covered and it shouldn't be easily seen (from the street!).

Not necessarily...I ordered 1000 rounds of 9mm in September 2001 from Sportsmans Guide (before I found out about ammoman).  I got home from work that evening, and the UPS man was driving away.  There was my package sitting on my front porch, and attached was a sticker noting "Adult Signature Required".  Neither, I nor my wife had signed for it and it was left on my porch.

If it's printed in the label above or below the bar code (not a seperate sticker) as I've described the DIAD (the brown computer board the driver uses) won't allow the stop to be completed.

I've been a full time UPS driver for almost 3 years.

I've heard all kinds of stuff, especially from Bowers board, about UPS. UZI submachineguns left by the front door. A lost M16 that didn't get "found" until a supervisor was informed that the BATF would have to be called. All kinds of stuff, but hell, when you deliver 20 trillion packages a day, you have to expect to have some screw ups. I've had them lose the same package twice, delivered to the wrong address, and the second time they didn't get it back. Wasn't anything important though...
