Need some recommendations on a protective case for a Samsung Galaxy 5.
It doesn't need to be water proof but water resistant is a plus. |

Dropped it in the river while fly fishing and shit like that and never had a problems. J- |

My wife and I have had S4's for a year. She has the Otterbox Defender, and I have the UAG. The UAG is MUCH better.
The Otterbox has some issues. The clear plastic screen protector allows dust and dirt to get under the screen which can scratch it. I need to take it apart every few months to clean the screen. Also, the rubber cover loosens over time. It is much larger and stickier than the UAG; with our phones sitting next to each other, they don't even look like the same phone due to the difference in bulk. The UAG is great. It doesn't add a lot of bulk; easy to get in and out of the pocket. It comes with a stick on screen protector which still looks brand new after 1 year. Both cases have protected our phones from drops. She has dropped hers a handful of times. The phone usually turns off when she drops it. I have dropped mine twice. The UAG has protected it with no issues (no loss of power either). I strongly recommend the UAG. |
I'm pretty careful with mine, and didn't go whole hog with the case - decided on Spigen slim armor with their glas TR screen protector. If you want more protection, go with their tough armor (a bit thicker)
