Just got new insurance and have a large deductible, I'm wanting to treat this with rest and over the counter stuff first, if possible.
Symptoms have been here for a few days: Severe headache (on the top and slightly front part of head, got worse last night) Spot on throat irritated and sore (getting better over the past 3 days) Dryness in nose, throat, thirsty. Yes I am drinking extra fluids. Somewhat weak and tired. What do? Sinus infection? Allergies? Ebola? Thanks in advance. |

What's the point of paying for your insurance if you aren't willing to pay the deductible? Hate to break it to you, but the internet is what I wouldn't trust with my diagnosis. I'm in between jobs, wife just started new job. I got a cheap plan in the event of a catastrophic issue until we are both on a reliable plan. |

Depending on your copay amount and otc drug cost, I'd pick something like this over arfcom http://www.memd.me/ |

do you have a fever?
not a doc, but I do stay in a lot of Holiday Inns Expresses. I would wait a week and see what happens. If the headache is severe and it does not go away and is constant, I would consider going to a doc if you are not prone to migraines, but lacking a fever, it could just be a cold or viral sinus infection. Take some sudafed and see if the headache goes away. Could just be sinus pressure. |

I think the plan is to get some sinus pressure meds now, and if that doesn't work, go to an urgent care. |
