Picked up my New RIA 1911 9mm today
I really like the way it looks compared to the giant billboard they used to have on the slide.
upon initial inspection the only thing that seems FUCKY is the stock MAG..
but my LGS had some nice EMP mags that i picked up.. so i should be G2G

it is a 9 plus 1..i paid 400 bucks..i toiled over buying this one or a springfield.however the springer was 850..so i took a chance.i bought it to shoot it,not stare at it.

The stock mags are pretty bad but my RIA Tactical is my favorite 1911 now. It has thousands and thousands through it in the past 6-7 months since I got it and it keeps trucking. It's definitely not as "tight" as it was when I got it, but that doesn't seem to hurt accuracy or reliability.

Very nice. My only (minor) gripe is while they ditched the big rollmark they took a page from Taurus and went to color fill. Easily fixed though.

ETA-as for the HP question above, a friend of mine has one. With the factory mag, it chokes on hollowpoints but does just fine with good aftermarkets(I THINK he uses MetalForm but don't remember).

Tripp mags are the answer you seek, but you can end up with more money in mags than the gun cost pretty quick.

FPNI. I love 1911s and a 9mm is on my radar.

I need one of these. No 1911 style yet and don't want to invest in yet another caliber.

Wilson magazines are a solid #2 choice and a little cheaper.

Nice score OP.
