When I first saw the thread title, I thought, "Nothing can explain the Dutch language.  It something that sort of looks like German, but is otherwise completely unpronounceable."

And then I clicked on the thread.

It's all sort of making sense, now.

Kaliningrad is part of Russia. Used to be part of Germany (until 1945). Until the end of World War II, the area formed the northern part of the former East Prussia. The city was largely destroyed during World War II; its ruins were captured by the Red Army in 1945 and its German population fled or was removed by force. It was renamed Kaliningrad on July 4, 1946 in honor of Mikhail Kalinin

Northern Ireland is part of the UK, not Ireland

Slovakia and Slovenia are two different countries.

DK=Danish=Dutch, moran.

Anyway, you can't swing a cat over there without going through some area with a different argle-bargle "language." They should just stick to English, which they all understand if you shout loud enough while pointing your pistol at 'em. English is good enough for MTV and it's good enough for Canadians even if they talk funny so I don't see why the Danish Dutch should get all uppity with their bork-bork-bork bonjour arrivederci lingo.

Danish and Dutch are NOT the same, moran. Two totally different countries that do not even share a border.

Dutch is most similar to German. Denmark is not Holland/Netherlands. Both my parents speak(spoke) Dutch and German, neither spoke Danish. If there is a joke here, I missed it.

The way to get a Danes goose is to call him dutch, Apparently the way to get a Dutchman's goat is to call him Danish.

I used to work for Philips, a Dutch company.  Lots of the drawings I used to repair machinery were in Dutch and I picked up a little.  I always loved the idea of learning it, but I'd have no one to talk to.

It's the nicer way of saying it, based on the now famous photo: "get a brain, morans". I'm sure he knew how to spell it, I was reusing his spelling.
