Quoted: Too bad Fat Albert was declared un-PC and no longer shown. Really, in the seventies I went to an elementary school in Savannah, GA, in a less than desirable part of town. I was one of two white kids in my grade, the other white kid was in a different class. On Friday afternoon after recess they would play a couple of Fat Albert films in the classroom, they would move all of the desks to the back of the room and the kids from my class and another class would sit on the floor and watch the films. I was always in trouble for something and had to sit in the cloakroom until it was over. I don't know how many Fat Albert films I heard, but I don't think I ever saw one. Oddly enough I was able to correctly identify which voice went with which character in pictures. All of the other kids would laugh at me because I didn't get to see Fat Albert. |
