Ok. I know of a situation that I don't know where to go with. And I will preface this with I may just be gullible and all this a lie and that I have only known this girl for a couple of weeks.
I know this girl who is married to a Mexican. She was living in Mexico with him and their 3 kids, one of which was born there. Her papers were expiring so she came back to the US, leaving her kids with her husband and her mother in law. Her husband came back later. She didn't know that he was coming back. They have a 4th kids that is here in the US. Now he won't let her call her kids and she can't bring them back because, as I understand it, they both signed papers for them to go to Mexico, so they both have to sign papers to bring them back and he won't sign. He changed his mothers phone number so she can't call and she's tried sending letters through UPS with no luck. He has beat her and cheated on her. He basically uses the kids as leverage to keep her with him. She said she's talked to a lawyer and they told her to tough it out until he signs. She's tried places for abused women and they said they couldn't help her. This is all coming from her. Is there anywhere she can go for help getting her kids back? She doesn't have any money, so that pretty much cuts out good lawyers. |
| You're right. I need to run as far away as possible. If there wasn't something she could do, without me getting involved, I would tell her and let her handle it. Unfortunately, I'm one of those dumbasses that feel the need to help people even when I know better. Hopefully it'll pay off in the afterlife... |
| Ok. So the general consensus that I'm a dumbass and need to run. You know, I have never saw so much agreement on a forum before. I think you are right. I felt really sorry for the girl. And that will get me in serious trouble. I have 2 kids of my own to look after. |

yeah not your responsibility.
i mean if she was single with no kids and needed to get married for a green card and was good in the sack you might be able to help her out 
She was responsible enough to get herself in to that situation and have 4 kids she can deal with it just fine on her own. If they were my kids I'd drive down there and take them back |

Are you married or with the mother of your children? That shit could get ugly fast. My best friend got the superman syndrome with a young college girl where he worked at. His harmony at home is gone. |

Suggest she read up on the Hague Child Abduction Convention, then contact the applicable line at the Office of Children's Issues.
When she doesn't do that, immediately refer to the first post. |
