How long before our kids don't know what this is? Or how to use one? http://i18.photobucket.com/albums/b104/georgiab2/20140711_201927_zpswvalvbrr.jpg lol You post a picture of an "old" phone but it's NOT rotary, and instead is one of those fancy push-button phones. Kids today.
Think they know all about computers, but have no idea what a DEC PDP-11 is. |

I miss ye olde dimmer swutch!! Remember when the starter switch was UNDER the clutch pedal so you'd have to have the clutch disengaged to reach it?? |

I wish modern vehicles still had those. |

Think they know all about computers, but have no idea what a DEC PDP-11 is. Spent many hours on a PDP 11-35....... |

Quoted: Try having to teach a 21 year old kid how to drive a stick because that is all that you have for them to drive as a mode of transportation while on the clock. They just don't get it anymore. |

Think they know all about computers, but have no idea what a DEC PDP-11 is. Wasn't the original version of "Space Wars" written on a PDP-11? I played it on a PDP8 but it ran on a PDP1! There is some serious nostalgia there. |

We go to grade schools to teach fire safety and have a phone that connects to another in a different room to allow the kids to practice calling 911.
About half don't know how to use the "old" phone and try dialing before picking up or looking for a "call" button. 2 and 3 graders. |

I still have one of those |
|
I was at a car cruise last night where a dad was explaining to his teenage daughter what the button was on the floor of my Charger. Remember when there also was a windshield washer button on the floor? |

A '49 Plymouth, a '64 Landcruiser Wagon, and a '68 F100. All of them three on the tree. Just drove the pickup 100 miles today.

I still drive a '49 Plymouth with a flathead six, vacuum wipers, 6 volt positive ground electrical system, a three on the tree, bias-ply tires, dimmer switch on the floor, and a parking brake on the drive shaft. Drove it all winter long at 8,000 feet in the Rockies one year. |
