The Delorean DMC 12 weighed in at about 2700 lbs and the US model put out a about 130 HP from its 2.9ish L V6 (PRV6) Ive driven a few, still my favorite car, but definitely anemic. In the 80s before they folded there was talk of a twin turbo variant that would have boosted performance but it never made it. There was a guy who did his own custom turbo setup on his 83 and got some pretty decent numbers out of it. In the movie they actually grafted a porsche engine into it because of all the extra shit they hung off the car to turn it into the time machine car |

Doc Brown was actually Doctor Brownfurter - infamous Nazi scientist - on the run after the war.
He had used the time machine to erase all knowledge of his war crimes prior to hooking up with Marty. The only one who knows the truth is Einstein... not the renowned scientist, but the dog... and he's not talking.
