Any of you all running one without an adjustable gas block, lol?

I took my 20" bbl .308 AR and ran it suppressed for the first time.  I'd installed an adjustable gas block on it beforehand in anticipation.   When running it suppressed, I had to dial the gas block down until it was barely cracked open in order to calm the gas down to a respectable level.

One blown primer and a couple of misfeeds.  Also, big swipes on the case head from the ejector.

I don't know if this is going to work like I had planned.

Sure so is 5.56. whats your point?

Shits loud without a can, hearing safe with a can.

Not everyone needs ninja quiet. Just quiet enough to not have to wear ear protection.

DO you have to pay $200 for each suppressor?

It's not that bad.

I know a guy that paid $70,000 for a Corvette. He still gets to work the same time as me.

All I use is adjustable Gas Blocks on my AR's with suppressors. They are the way to go IMO when you run a suppressed/unsuppressed AR. I used to mess with carrier weights, heavy buffers, heavy springs and such, but IMHO they should be a last resort.

The pressure appears to be too high on your gun O.P. Im my experience, when this happens the throat it too tight (Short). If you have the throat lengthened (This does not effect the headspace) it will likely stop the pressure signs from the ejector and popping primers.

ADCO does it for 5.56 barrels, not sure if they do it for 308/7.62x51. A reamer can be rented to lengthen the throat but its not something you should try unless you know what you are doing.

You may lose a slight bit of accuracy by having the throat lengthened but its minimal if done right.

You think suppressors are bad, don't even look into high end optics or night vision.

Or... it's completely out of time from the increased pressure from the can.

So am I when I shoot my suppressed guns.

And I don't have near the money invested into my cans as he does in his vette.

And he has to maintain it, insure it and hope some fucker in the roadway or parking lot doesn't ding it.

I just throw my can in a bag  at the back of the safe until I want to play with it again.

I have a LMT MWS308 16" and recently got a AAC 762 SDN-6. The gun is stock and has a H3 buffer and is without adjustable gas. I took it to the range a few weeks ago after picking up the suppressor. I was expecting it to be over-gassed, as all my carbine length 5.56mm AR's have been when using a M4-2000 suppressor. All of my carbine length AR's have required me to go up one heavier on the buffer to get reliable functioning. I have a mid-length 16" that didn't need a heavier buffer to function properly suppressed. I was pleasantly surprised to find that the SDN-6 on the LMT MWS308 didn't seem to eject any differently than it does without the suppressor.

What buffer weight are you using? Possibly your adjustable gas block is metered incorrectly. I'd go back to the factory gas block and try it with an H3 buffer.

Damn.

This thread has made me realize I've had my SDN-6 for about a year now, and my 16" .308 gun set up with the mount for about as long.  And I still haven't shot the damn gun with the damn can on it.

I suck.

Night vision is the checking account devil.

My OBR has the factory one with two settings.  It works as advertised.  It would be severely over gassed using the can with the full on setting.

Wizard, try a heavier buffer....I keep a set of Tubb's carrier weights to quickly diagnose what buffer weight I need before I order.
