Quoted: Falcon. I think more people recognize it than the Enterprise. I'll respectfully but completely disagree. More than a decade of a head start, more movies alone, never mind the various TV series, and actual screen-time over the years is no contest. I love both franchises dearly, but more people will recognize the Enterprise picture or shape than the MF. JMHO. |

Which "starship Enterprise" are you taking about? The one from the original series? (NCC-1701) The one from the Star Trek movie, and Wrath of Khan? (ostensibly the NCC-1701, but different) The one from Star Trek IV? (NCC-1701A) The one from Star Trek Generations? (NCC-1701B) The one that appears in an episode of Star Trek TNG? (NCC-1701C) The one actually used in Star Trek TNG? (NCC-1701D) The one from the Enterprise series? (NX-01) The one from Star Trek: First Contact and Star Trek: Insurrection? (NCC-1701E) Or wait, did you mean the one from the "reboot" Star Trek movies that looks different yet again, but is supposedly NCC-1701? lol "the Enterprise" CANNOT be iconic, because there is not ONE that can be the icon. On the other hand, there is only ONE version of the Millenium Falcon, consistent throughout three different movies. |

NC1701 no alpha designation. And really, I think the point is sort of moot. Kirk and Solo would have got drunk together at Mos Eisley, and ravaged every woman planet wide Kids today think that the NC1701 original Enterprise looks like a toilet seat with two plungers attached from ww2 or something. Heck, to them, Star Trek TNG is an old and outdated TV show from the mists of time. . That's about as iconic to the modern generation as Sergeant Schultz.
Agree on Kirk and Solo. |

Ahh really, I do think the Enterprise is more iconic. Look at the different series it produced, look at the movies made, and look at the following. Heck, there are whole conventions based on the Star Trek series, the Falcon is just a side show at any comicon convention (and most of those are about Princess Leia). The Enterprise regardless of config. is one of the most recognizable star ships (if not the most) of any fiction space ships ever! Just look at some of the spin offs not realated to ST movies/seires that have been awesome ie... Galaxy Quest. And for most creative use of toilet plungers NOTHING beats these guys... http://i776.photobucket.com/albums/yy47/Gunslinger8O8/daelicexterminate.jpg Good point. The CONCEPT of the Enterprise- not one specific one - may be more iconic. If we're talking about specific ships, I'd give it to the Falcon, but if we're talking generally, I'll give you the concept of the Enterprise as being more iconic. The Daleks are definitely iconic! |
