They just continue to walk up something that is obviously unstable and very tall, only because everyone else is doing it. If it was wobbling like that and only a few people were on it, how do you think they would react? They'd be scared shitless. But put them in a herd and they don't question it. |

If it wobbled under the weight of 3 people, something would be wrong. I'd expect it to wobble under the weight of that many people. Is it unnerving? Yes. Is it safe? Maybe. Was your use of the term "herd mentality" correct? All signs point to No. |
