I was heading to my gf's apartment after spending the evening(5pm-1:30am) helping a friend fix his car because he was having some trouble and didn't have the money to pay a mechanic.  I get off the interstate and about a mile down the road there is a huge DUI checkpoint at a 4-lane by 4-lane intersection, so I pull up and greet the officer and I have my license in my hand.  He takes the license and looks at the tag and returns to my window and asks "where are you coming from tonight", I reply, "I was helping a friend fix his car".  He looks at my license again and says "I'm going to ask you again, where are you coming from", I reply the same thing.  He then asks if the license has my current address, I tell him it does and he walks away and returns with another officer.  He asks me "where is this address" and I told him 3 times where it was and he keeps asking me.

By this point I am completely confused why these two officers want to know where this address is because it is only about 2-miles away.  I'm trying to cooperate and the officers just keep quizing me, sounding more and more annoyed.

It turns out, they thought I was lying because I was headed away from the address but they never asked me where I was going or explained themselves.

(If that didn't make sense, I don't really care, it's my b-day and I'm drinking)

I'm glad DUII checkpoints in Oregon are unlawful. Not so that I can drink and drive with impunity, but so I don't have to put up with being arbitrarily stopped in a roadblock and be fucked with by the cops.

I don't like it but usually checkpoints around here are done by the NCSHP, and they are VERY polite and professional.

Got you beat.  I had a thread on here a while back about a cop bitching me out for turning ON MY ROAD just before their checkpoint.

I had three officers run up screaming for me to kill the engine.  When I did, I handed them my license.  They started demanding to know why I was trying to avoid their roadblock.  I tried to speak, but couldn't get a word out.  Finally, after working all day with HS kids, and working a football game that night, my nerves gave way.
I butted in and said "Officer... would you kindly look at the fucking green sign to your right, and then look at the address on my damned license????

I saw a glazed over look as he looked at the sign and my address about three times.  He gave me my license back, and said... well, I hope you now know what to do if you come to a roadblock in the future.

That did it for me.  I looked at him and said.... "No... I don't really think I do.  In fact, I am not sure if you do, either.  Why don't you tell me... should I go through the roadblock, then make a U-Turn on the highway, come back through it, and THEN turn onto my road?  Or should I simply turn on my road because I get to it?  I'd really like to know what your instructions are."

The [explicative removed] responded with "Have a nice night." Sadly, these were not local cops... this was MS Highway Patrol, Troop J.

I suppose it be against the COC to post a gif of a monkey fucking a football?

I dig the fact OR doesn't allow DUI checkpoints.

I dig it anytime I don't get pulled over.

I have ZERO respect for these fucktards that pretend to be serving the public.  They serve no one but themselves

My dogs are ok.

I've never had an Leo interaction like this though, no matter how many times I answered the question they kept asking over and over. "Where is this address?" , I kept telling them "it's 2 miles back down this road on the right".  Every time I told them where it was, they got more annoyed.  The whole experience was really bizarre.

Most LEO are really bizzare these days.  I honestly think there is more mental illness in that community than the public knows or realizes.

too many bought into the "us versus them" mentality complete with blue line and 1* to stickers.  Funny how you rarely see the military feeling the need to tell people how they have 1* of need a seperate "line" to stand behind in order to protect them

The first 3-4 times I honestly thought they didn't know the street I was talking about, it slowly dawned on me what was going on.

As I drove away I got more and more annoyed but what can I do except bitch on here.  I'm sure as hell not going to file a complaint.
