No reason to kill the little fella. It was rattling pretty hard at me and I was 10 ft away. Timber Rattlers are not something I mess with. |

A friend called today and said she had a snake in the yard that she needed me to take care of. Didn't know it was a rattler...my 12ga took the head off and then my knife took care of the rattles, which she kept. About 2.5-3' long. (not my shoe in the pic) https://fbcdn-sphotos-h-a.akamaihd.net/hphotos-ak-xpa1/t1.0-9/10421425_10101378100258197_8722961253702599564_n.jpg Did you eat it? |

No reason to kill the little fella. That's more extreme than my philosophy which is: "I won't eat it if it has fewer than two legs or more than four" |

I wouldn't have killed it....but then, I like snakes.
Not what I'd call a 'good shoot' but I'm not going to condemn anyone for taking out a viper. The non-herp guys aren't going to know endangered species from a distance. Probably the right action given the circumstances |

Any rattler is endangered if it's around me.
