Ever set aside a good hunk of change for a firearm (or some other big "toy" or hobby purchase), then you find out something about it that keeps you from buying it at the last second?

I've been surfing the EE and exchanges on other forums for about 2-3 days now trying to figure out how to blow this money on something before I blow it on something REALLY stupid.

It was going to be a decent semi .308 with some nice glass, but now I keep looking at .50s and telling myself how absolutely fucking pointless it would be for me to have one.

It crossed my mind, but since the farthest I regularly can shoot is around 3-400 both are pretty much equally pointless, and the price of the ammo is close enough that I'd probably just go .50 BMG for the hell of it. I doubt I'll do either but it's fun to consider...

Patience is a virtue in these situations.  Keep looking.  The joy of getting a killer deal is worth the wait.

Those always struck me as a good way to throw a lot of money at something that isn't as accurate as an AR10. YMMV

I tend to over think purchases sometimes to, get some money together and then start coming up with pros and cons about it(can drive you nuts) I got lucky this last time and a couple good deals fell in my lap.
