Last time I was there was about a year ago. Hotels and stuff are super cheap. You can stay right at the base of the pyramids for about $200/night. There weren't any western tourists, what few were there were all Asian. I spent most of my time in Alexandria for work. Egypt has definitely turned itself into a third-world country. As with any of these places, stick to the tourist areas, or go with a trusted local. |
