15 year old top loading Whirlpool is about to bite the big one. Not going to drop $2K on a washing machine. I don't need steam, front loading or some odd ball color. I just want something that is going to last without needing repaired once a year. So what are your recommendations? |

Samsung front loader, works great. 4 yrs, not a single issue Being able to wash comforters or sleeping bags has saved a lot of trouble for the s/o Heh, if you do wash a comforter or sleeping bag in a top loader, make sure it isn't one of the newer ones without an agitator in the center and super high speed spin. Super high speed spin, plus anything rubber impregnated = disaster waiting to happen. Axe me how I knows.

The more basic the longer it will last you. Purchased new a High Point washer and dryer set in 1993. Just replaced the dryer last month. The washer works fine yet. The dryer I just installed last month is a Samsung DE400EW. I don't see it lasting 20 years. Modern appliances are not built for longevity. |
