I get to go back to work shortly, and have earmarked my first paycheque for a post cancer treat for myself.

I have set aside a certain amount and have a couple choices

Choice #1 is a Johnson rifle, condition is fair, I will throw pics up in a bit, he did not send a pic of the bore, but said it is dark with strong rifling...

Choice #2 is an XCR-M AND an antique pepperbox revolver in 36 or 38 cal, can't quite tell yet...

so what say the hive?

The pictures show my biggest issues with the rifle, in it's condition compared to what he wants for it.  The price difference between me getting the one vs. the 2 is negligible

He is asking $3500 for the Johnson

Johnson for sure. They are badass.

Johnsons are expensive as hell it seems. Look badass. I'd go with that if I could get one.

[Insert joke about the 13er knowing the price of badass looking Johnsons and wishing he could get one.]

That Johnson rifle would make a nice companion to your M1

The cracked stock on the Johnson is troublesome.  If you are getting a good deal on it then go for it, but I have seen others for sale that are in much better condition.

I would get the Johnson just for the fact they are somewhat rare.

Besides when your friends call you could pick it up and when the ask what your doing, you could say I'm just fondling my johnson.

I am going to contact him and tell him his price is too high, If I can't haggle him down to a reasonable price I will not buy it

wish it was in nicer condition, then I would pay
