I checked... I had firefox 28.  It updated while I was checking the version.

The page tabs are smoother, but otherwise the layout is exactly the same.

Back button= identical

Refresh button= become the stop button while a page is loading just like previous version.

I just updated, and the Stop button is where it's always been.  My Back button has been round for as long as I can remember; but if it changed shapes, I don't think I would consider this to be such an egregious affront to aesthetics that I would have to switch browsers.

I like the new tab scheme far better.  It makes it much easier to see which tab is active.

The menu button appears to be an improvement as well; for example, there's now a button for addons, so that I don't have to type about:addons.

I suggest that you give it a few days.  I can't imagine that, once you get used to the differences, you would think that changing to a completely different browser is your best option.

Firefox's primary mission is updating itself.  Browsing is just a sideline and it will squeeze that in IF it has time between updates.

I stopped using firefox a long time ago. Safari does everything I could possibly want it to do and syncs with my phone for the icloud tabs, which is very usefull.

Does Waterfox have all the plug-ins that Firefox does?  I use noscript, a download plugin to rip youtube (and other) videos, and a couple others.

Also, how is Waterfox for browser exploits compared to Firefox?

Pale Moon is great.  It's a fork of Firefox so there's no learning curve and Firefox add-ons work with it.

They issue updates rarely unlike Firefox that constantly updates with "improvements" that suck rocks.

Huh? If the browser updated automatically that is YOUR fault for not changing the update setting via the Tools -> Options -> Advanced -> Update tab -> FireFox Updates to either "Check for updates, but let me choose whether to install them" or "Never check for updates (not recommended: security risk).

The stop button, you know that little X thing to the right of the URL address bar and to the right of the reload button, is still there. It only shows while the web page/URL address is loading.

OP, you are wrong or you are one of those fancy "Safari" type guys just spreading disinformation.

In version 29, you are -- like always-- still capable of manually upgrading. Nothing changed unless you changed the settings yourself.

Yup, you can download, install it, and it'll port everything (bookmarks, add-ons that are compatible)over.  I run no script and a whole bunch of flash video downloaders and shit that I used on firefox
