-seems to be headed for a rocky start (gun photos inside):
http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/worldnews/southamerica/brazil/10790462/Rio-chaos-in-countdown-to-kick-off.html I'd imagine fans from some countries - like Northern Europe - might find Brazil threatening. Fans from other countries might find it just like home. US fans? Kinda depends: those from Detroit might not be phased. Midwest fans (other than from Chicago) will probably miss having their CCW arms with them & will stay close to the hotel. |

In for the hate from guys who haven't done anything athletic or played a sport in 30 years. Meh. Soccer haters might weigh in on this thread, but the article is NOT about soccer - it is about the virtual war on crime happening right now before the games - and whether there is any chance of a truce during the games. I think there will be a lot of victimized fans by the end of this World Cup. Will be interesting to see if the press reports it or not. NOTE: I was happy to be wrong about the olympics in Sochi, Russia. I really had a bad feeling (though it turned out OK). |
