I just picked up Robin Olds' memoirs.
Soon after I started reading I was filled with pangs of regret... ... for not getting it sooner. Great read. I highly recommend it. |

Some of Clostermann's kill claims as recounted in the book are now known to be fiction as verified by post war examination of German records.
William R. Dunn wrote another autobiography titled Fighter Pilot. He was the first American to shoot down an enemy plane in WW2 flying spitfires for the Eagle Squadron in BoB. It too is a really great read for WW2 aviation buffs. Quoted:
