Sorry but its the best way I could describe it. I work in the 10th largest Emergency Room in the nation and the stuff we see is, well......people wouldn't believe it unless they saw it. So I am trying to find a program that can hide the faces on a video. I think its called a "mosaic", something that in a video hides the face of someone. At my place of employment we have a video cameras everywhere and sometimes we have to go into a room to take care of a disorderly patient. Some of these videos are absolutely hilarious. Some are used for "use of force" training. After going through a bunch of them with my supervisor, he said "if I could only find one of those programs that covers peoples faces, I would put a 10 minute video together and it would go viral". So, long and short of it is, what program can I use to cover peoples faces. Any help appreciated. |
| Personally, it just isn't worth the potential HIPAA issues even with blurred faces but that is just my opinion. The hospital I was working at was very strict on such matters, to the point of write ups and being fired if caught being in the wrong record during an audit. |

Not to mention potentially messing with JACO accreditation. That will fuck a hospital over fast if they lose it. |

I JUST learned how to do this today.
"How to hide a face in Premiere Pro" http://tv.adobe.com/watch/no-stupid-questions-with-colin-smith/how-to-hide-a-face-in-premiere-pro/ Unfortunately, you will need basic understanding of Premiere Pro to do it as well https://helpx.adobe.com/creative-cloud/learn/start/premiere.html |

Isn't HIPAA pretty much a joke now? There's no more privacy between a patient and physician. It really depends on the scenario really. For the most part, it still has teeth that hospitals/clinics are scared of. For the guys I worked for, if anyone even thought you were near a violation it was a talk to by your supervisor. If they decide that you did see something you shouldn't on purpose (even if it wasn't technically a violation) you were gone. Better safe than sorry. Accreditation and not paying massive fines are huge for a hospital. You lose JACO accreditation and you can't bill or treat VA/Medicare/.gov programs/etc unless it is life saving or the pt is out of pocket on it. That said, I do miss my job. Doc better get me fixed up soon. My job might have been boring, but it was pretty fun and the pay was great.

If your hospital administration finds out you will lose your job. Hospitals exist to make money, anything that jeopardizes that will be crushed. How popular will your hospital be if people know that they may end up on the Internet looking like idiots. Posted Via AR15.Com Mobile |
| Ask yourself just one question..."Is it worth me potentially losing my job for a chuckle or two?" HIPPA is STILL no joke especially if some jackwagon you filmed sees the video, gets a dime store lawyer and starts digging for gold. Don't do it period. I'm in hospital; management and we will fire employees no questions asked. We absolutely will not tolerate jeopardizing hospital reputation or bottom line for stupidity. |
