Squad 51, this is Rampart. Start an IV with D5W TKO. RUN 5 milligrams epinephrine with a lidocaine drip and transport as soon as possible. Yeah, I watched the show a bit.
that was probably the one thing they ever gave in iv form. iremember thinking it must be some wonder drug. |

that was probably the one thing they ever gave in iv form. iremember thinking it must be some wonder drug. They ran morphine drips on some of the more gruesome injuries, IIRC. |

there always seemed to be at least 1 high angle rescue with a ton of ropes. and the obligatory fire at the end at the chemical plant which looked suspiciously like the big complex across the street from their station.
i actually really liked the show. my 1 complaint is that they split too much time between fire calls and the hospital people. it seems like it's almost a 50/50 split most of the time. |

I liked Emergency! but I liked Adam-12 more. Adam-12 was fucking great! For awhile here, right when TV changed over to digital broadcast, there was a sub-station that showed all the old late 60's - early 70's action / crime shows. And that was all they showed. Wish it was still there. |

Or the propane "brush fires" that never spread from the bush the fuel nozzle was hidden under.
ETA: Comcast still has a "TVLand" type channel that shows Emergency once or twice a week. |

It was crazy to watch the main lead actors doing dangerous stunts. In an ocean rescue, they were in the surf right by the rocks. Kevin Tighe came close to getting slammed on the rocks a couple of times. Randolph Mantooth was always in the air with no visible safety nets. Plus they blew shit up real good. There was a closed oil refinery obviously slated for demolition, that was destroyed over several episodes. Jack Webb and his people did it right. |

Wish it was still there. The Me TV network still does it in a lot of cities - Here in San Antonio, they broadcast on KSAT channel 12.2. |

I'd forgotten that it was a Jack Webb production. |

A KTBC sub here in Austin. It went to Spanish stuff after about a year or so. |

Not quite a cop drama, but it had Shatner in it. Good production values though.

Wish it was still there. Emergency! (or was we called it, "Station 51") was really good. Adam 12 was awesome. There's a scene that still makes me chuckle: Adam 12 is in pursuit of a car that's speeding and driving recklessly. This goes on for a while. Eventually, the car stops. Malloy goes up to the driver's side. The guy driving says "Hi", to which Malloy replies "I dunno - are you?" |

We've got it in Houston too (at least we still do as far as I know). My kids love watching the old shows on there like Gilligans Island |

Quoted: Adam 12 is on every weekday at 3pm followed by Emergency. When I have to work nights I eat my dinner while watching both. My dogs start howling at the sirens from the fire trucks rolling out of the station during the opening credits. |

I've watched a few episodes on MEtv. I don't remember watching it as a kid, but I probably did. My wife is 5 years older and can tell you all the names and characters. I guess there is worse stuff to watch on tv, but it kind of reminds me of Mexican television.
I thought Dixie was married to Early in real life? And that tone out is awful! |
