I will NEVER, EVER buy ANYTHING from ANY company who's ads I am FORCED to watch before I am able to watch the video I went to the website to watch in the first place.
As you were....cool story bro, get off my lawn, potato...etc...etc... |

I am the same way! I will actually purposely buy the competition. At the same time shouldn't we support whoever is supporting what we like to watch |

So you expect people spend time and money to create content and then buy servers to host it on and let you watch them with no revenue source? I am sure they will get right on that. It's obvious by the fact this thread was created that not everyone is enlightened enough to block the ads. Those people can pay for it. If I watch something and like the content enough to subscribe I will allow ads. like in the case of Jerry Miculek's page, or Colin Noir's page, where the ads are for products I'm actually likely to be interested in. I get nearly 30 minutes of ads per 30 minutes of show on cable/dish which I pay for, and which the original draws many years ago was no ads or very little, not to mention regular networks. Radio is the same way, which is fine, as it and over the air tv were set up originally that way. IOW, I have enough non targeted ads. |

As you were....cool story bro, get off my lawn, potato...etc...etc... I completely agree with your sentiment, I knew a few years ago that ads were unbelievably annoying. So that is when I experimented with no script and various early ad block software. It finally payed off when I found Ad Block. Ad Block plus is also pretty good, they're roughly equal in capability, but mostly unnoticeable. Most of the problems I have with Google Chrome seem to be with webpages being formatted for either firefox or IE and not because I blocked the ads. You should seriously consider downloading it if you haven't. |

Well, I got right on installing ADblock after the recommendations here . How's that gonna work for those noble web purveyors now.
