Anyone have one?  How do they work?  Any issues?  They are less than 2 1/2 inches longer than a standard 30rd mag, is the extra length that much more noticeable?  Does the extra length seem awkward?

Thinking about getting some just for shits and giggles.

They're great.  After the next AWB, you'll be kicking yourself for not buying any.

I Mag clamped 2 of the magpul 40 rounders together. It makes mag dumps much more exhausting .

Vaporware.

not in stock. the thing might as well me a myth. just like .22LR.

We hear stories from elders that cheap plinking ammo existed. that they were a boring, undesired ammo, everywhere to be found. but then. they were gone.

Actually, I know a place that has some in stock.  Considering buying, just can't talk myself into it.

ETA:  According to their website, they have 369 of the 40rd Pmags in stock at $18.95 each.  ($18.50 ea. if you buy 10 or more)

Lol, I did the same and built an AR specifically to use with them. 20" PSA upper with a Magpul MOE rifle stock set and bipod. I call it my RPK-AR.

I know of at least 3 places including a vendor in the EE.  They do sell out but come back in stock in short order.

In before the "length matters" crowd.

I think they work great. Awesome for 3-Gun. Haven't had any more problems, zero, with them than I have the 30 round version.

I like them but prefer my strait 20 rounders

where they seem to shine is in the super short carbine area it gives you LMOST AS MANY ROUNDS AS  ps90 without the little bullet

weight is not that much more.

I have one to keep loaded in my AR. My plate carrier is still full of regular pmags. I would go to all 40's if I had the money to do it.

Will say this...I bought 5 when they first came out and one will not seat no matter what condition the gun is in.  Magpul said they will take care of it no problem but haven't taken the time to send it back.

Local Cabelas had a shit ton of them.

i have 2 of them but have yet to use them, they look a little longer than the 30 rounders and add a little more heft to the rifle

40 Round PMAGs are kinda tall, which can be an issue with prone shooting... but for having fun or 3 gun they are perfect.

Got a bunch in stock myself
4/9/2014 5:49:58 PM EDT
[#21]
Mine are 100% so far, but I've only emptied them a couple times each.

The added length isn't a big issue unless shooting prone.
4/9/2014 5:55:03 PM EDT
[#22]
Loads of fun with an AR pistol and the Sig arm brace!

Mine has been good so far.  I can't see buying too many since most of my shooting is done prone.

I would like to get my hands on 10 or so.  I see them all the time at my Cabela's for 20 bucks.

have one, no feeding issues. Feels like an AK mag on your ar, so not that much cumbersome

I have the snag free wallet mag and the comfort it won't fall out with a bullet button.

You 40 rounders should think more tier 1.

I have a few, but haven't tried them out yet. Here's a pic to give you an idea of what they look like in the gun.

They look great in an MSAR E4!!  Feeds great in it and in my AR's.  I second the Cabelas as my local ones has tons.  If no Cabelas near then 44mag.com is a great online place.

I bought 2 1 works great the other started not locking the bolt back after the last round, not a big deal but I was kinda bummed that it went bad so quick

They suck from then prone position.  I'll take a 30 rounder anytime over a 40.

I prefer 20 rounders anyways, honestly, but I'll probably pick up a few at some point.

Picked up half a dozen to throw in the mag collections.  Still in the wrapper, so I guess I'm technically neckbearding them.

I've got a couple for my SABRE 556. They work great and I'll probably pick up a few more.

Ahhh......fuck it.  I did it.  I bought 2 and a Pmag coupler (2-40 rounders coupled together is a hell of a lot cheaper than a 100rd beta mag).  So the 2 40rd Pmags added to my collection of 32-30 rounders (not including the one I converted to hold 5 rounds for hunting) means I can hold 1040rds of ammo.

(2*40)+(32*30)= 1040.  I also just toped off my stashed ammo (had to dip into it during the shortage) so I have 1000rds (actually 1009, not sure how I ended up with 9) and I ordered 1000rds of wolf plus picked up 260rds of Tula from Wal-Mart for practice!  Now I just need 40 more rounds of brass for my stash ammo.
