Now that I got your attention. Just wanted you all to see that idiocy grows everywhere, not just here. Washington State U.S. senator Patty Murray praises Osama Bin Laden and all his "good" works, and criticizes the U.S. for not being like him. click link to hear the audio http://groups.msn.com/MarkTalkcomFreeSwim/links.msnw NOW FOR THE LATEST CA IDIOCY Heard on the Mark Williams show today - CA gov Red Davis says he will order the release "non violent" felons from prison to help reduce costs ( this means burglars, thieves, etc ) One assistant DA said it would make a further mockery of the already almost useless CA justice system. From the Sac Bee http://www.sacbee.com/content/news/projects/liquid_assets/ CA water supply from the Colorado to be CUT OFF (that should make some people happy) |

We've had plenty of time to build a complete system of reservoirs capable of catching a good amount of the Sierra runoff, but every time they try to build one, the environmentalists have a fit, and with the financial backing of limousine liberals, are able to halt those projects. So, if SoCal gets screwed on the water, they better look at the loonies who are blocking water projects. And the same goes for NorCal as well. |
|
I have say that if the Delta Canal project is built it will be an ecological mess. I lived in Auburn and I still can't believe how much time, money and effort was wasted on that dam. I still don't think it is such a good idea to have it at its present location. Besides, it would flood out Mammoth Bar at the American River, one of the best places to go dirt bike riding in Kalifornication! Quoted: We've had plenty of time to build a complete system of reservoirs capable of catching a good amount of the Sierra runoff, but every time they try to build one, the environmentalists have a fit, and with the financial backing of limousine liberals, are able to halt those projects. hey pathfinder remember I lived there. I remember about the water before I left 5 years ago you were either in a drought or flood warning and no in between. it kinda tells you things are screwy as that tells me they have no storage! the damns in northern ca. were built way back a few years ago and I do not think you have built one since oraville. I think the population has grown since the early 60's. but hey what do the ca. folks care when they can steal water and elec. from other states and then not pay the bill. yes us in colo. would like to see l.a. dry up. been by the aquaduct in the summer months that ain't no farmers water heading south thats your water. don't you guys have that lake out there in the winter I think its called rio linda! don't you always find it in sac area its the poor area's that flood. but I think its god's plan to help get rid of the tire farms every couple of years. |
|
Quoted: I certainly hope SoCal's abuse of the Colorado gets them cut off. It will hurt most Californians, and you can be certain that the aquaduct will be flowin' as much as they can steal. Is it really abuse though? I mean, the majority of water goes to agri-business. NorCal feeds valley farmers water all the way down into SoCal. Part of the problem is it takes a ton of water to make that arid, salty soil useful. They're in a battle with nature, and it appears their main ammunition, water, is going to be in short supply. Maybe a lack of water will limit growth, but CA needs more homes. As always, it appears agri-business will get its way and the little guy will again be thanking his lucky stars he had enough money to bid that $500,000, 2000 sq/ft home $50,000 above the asking price. |
|
Quoted: Brilliant. Disarm CA residents and then let the criminals run loose. As I was listening to the radio show about every third caller said the same thing. One guy suggested the state could ease the deficit by dumping all the stupid gun laws, cutting the pay of the Corrections people (since they'll have fewer BGs to guard), and getting the revenue from the increased gun and ammo sales once the sheeple realize they must defend themselves. Thought he might be on to something there. As to the water issue, the people in this state need to tighten up. Most of the Sacramento area still does not even use water meters, just a flat fee per residence, so people waste a lot of water. They water their friggen lawns and flowers in the middle of the afternoon in summer when it's 105 out. Meanwhile up here where I live, where the friggen RIVER IS 1 mile from my house in the mountains, I get notices from my local water district that I need to cut back so the people in Sac can have enough water. AND, I pay twice what they do per month! |

I was refering to the Colorado river usage as abuse. [:)] We'll get charged higher rates to pay for the nice LA lawns. Just wait and see. Part of the problem is it takes a ton of water to make that arid, salty soil useful. They're in a battle with nature, and it appears their main ammunition, water, is going to be in short supply. My grandfather was a farmer near Fresno, I've heard a lot of water arguments. Maybe a lack of water will limit growth, but CA needs more homes. I disagree. California needs to stop growing exponentially. Agribusiness does two things...it feeds people and provides jobs. I'd rather have that then more houses all over the place. Most farmers are at least aware of the importance of the water issue. How many folks do you know who care about how much they use around the house? Not many I know do. [:(] |

A local conservative radio guy has pressed her for specific evidence to support her statements, but she remains silent & refuses to address the criticism. She's the reason I never bother to write my senator to express my concerns - what would be the point? The Kalifornicationization of WA State continues... |
|
Quoted: The real $64,000 question is why a majority of Washington voters picked her to represent them. Are they idiots? Are they Democrats? I'm sorry, I just repeated myself, didn't I? WA is a fine state with the same problem as states like, say, OR... The major metro areas take up 1% of the real estate, but 80% of the population. The cities vote Dem, the rural areas are along for the ride. I think the rest of WA is ready to cut Seattle loose, like OR is ready to cut Portland loose. -Z Merry Christmas all... |

Mr. Garrison: I heard there is no Christmas In the silly Middle East No trees, no snow, no Santa Claus They have different religious beliefs They believe in Muhammad And not in our holiday And so every December I go to the Middle East and saaaay... "Hey there Mr. Muslim Merry fucking Christmas Put down that book the Koran And hear some holiday wishes. In case you haven't noticed It's Jesus's birthday. So get off your heathen Muslim ass and fucking celebrate. |

Not to mention the reduction in crime rates after wanna-be burglars start getting picked off because they picked the wrong house to visit in the dead of night.... |

California is still one of the most energy conservative state in the union. Over 90% of the water does go for the farms. Most of the water comes from the California Serria mountains - San Diego does enjoy some of the Colorado river. Los Angeles gets there's from the aquaduct that runs from the mountains up north. |
|
Orange county has its own water supply also...one of the largest aquifers in the US. I also saw somewhere that the average californian uses way less water than the average person from the rest of the states...heck we still have the frikin things in our toilet that reduce the ammount of water being used...left over from the drought a while back. |
| The cutoff of the Colorado River water is related to settling the terms of a conservation agreement between farmers (who have legal control over some water rights) and urban governments, notably San Diego and the Imperial Valley farmers. They will settle this eventually, just like eventually Gov. Joe Davis will raise taxes. Hope we get an Amendment to limit spending before all this plays out. It is the best we can hope for other than anarchy and bankruptcy[:)] |
|
Quoted: NOW FOR THE LATEST CA IDIOCY Heard on the Mark Williams show today - CA gov Red Davis says he will order the release "non violent" felons from prison to help reduce costs There is no such thing as a non-violent felon in the California prison system. We have so many diversion and probation options that you have to make a crime a lifestyle choice to end up in a California prison. |

Quoted: No one in California has been disarmed, reguardless of what you saw on a late night NRA infomercial. Hm...that's not entirely true. I recall that at least 200 SKS' with detachable magazines were turned in. And the latest is Lockyer's felon/gun removal squad. They show up and ask nicely, and if you say no, they'll break the door in and take them from you. |

Kicking in your door and ripping your gun from your hands and all the others from your safe is disarmed. Only online would a guy with a safe full of rifles say he was "disarmed" after turning in an SKS for cash. |

They deprived you of your SKS so you're being disarmed. Choice means nothing in the matter, they still deprived people of their beloved SKS in Kommiefornia. |

AR, with all due respect, when gov't. orders you to relinquish arms (one or more), you are being disarmed. I could give two shits if the gov't. gave me a fucking mansion for turning in my SKS. If it forces me to do it, I am being deprived of that firearm. There are many people who choose the SKS because it is affordable. Sounds like the "Saturday Night Special" treatment to me. |

Patty Murray made it to office by a few hundred votes and with the support of the Libratarian Party. 15,000-20,000 free thinking idiots voted for a fringe weirdo and Slade Gorton, a pro-gun Republican lost. Another example where "voting for Freedom" is killing freedom. OPPS, I get them confused, they sound alike, blubber the same liberal twaddle and both dress like Hillary. My bad,,,,,,, Still if more of the FARRRRRRRRRRR right voted for the canidate most likely to win and closest to their views, this could be avoided. |

I have hard time understanding how the Libertarian party would support Murray, but I wasn't living here when she got into office, so I'll assume she ran on false pretenses. She's an embarassment, & seems to have an IQ equivilant to that of our family houseplant, [green]Cactus Jack[/green] (Who, BTW, would protect your RKBA). |

Quoted: Quoted: California is still one of the most energy conservative state in the union. Which is why they have to purchase power from surrounding states. [rolleyes] Jamie Californian's are probably more conservation aware than anyone else in the nation. Wind power, solar power, hydro, low-power light bulbs, you name it. When we had the last drought, people saved so much water that the water companies raised the price to keep from going bankrupt. Since 1990 we added 4 million new residents, business expanded, yet we did not build new power plants. The state govt. failed to correctly address the issue of power, and coupled with industrial growth and the addition of new residents, boom. But the fact we had a power problem is just a testament to the fact CA is an economic powerhouse. Californians are not big wasters of anything. Hell, the waste disposal companies include recycle bins with the trash cans for God's sake. |
