If you don't mind, what happened? 2 is too young, even for big pups. Sorry about your boy. The Vet is not sure, he was fine this morning, running around and playing with his brother. I brought them in and about an hour later when he tried to get up he yelped.. I checked him out and the slightest touch on his hip made him cry.. Rushed him to the ER and after another 45 min I couldn't even touch his head without a cry. the vet run a bunch of test and said he had no platelets left in his blood.. His gums were bleeding and had sores in his moth, he started shacking real bad. Vet ruled out poison but said he would need a blood transfusion to get his blood somewhat back to norm but even that was a long shot.. |

Holy crap, way too young...sorry OP. I've seen more than a couple Rots go very early. One I remember in particular was a friend's dog, Urko. At about 1.5 years, he jumped off the back gate of a truck, foreleg collapsed, turned out to be a sarcoma. These big dogs live life faster, it seems. Sucks, sorry OP again. |

I'm sorry. It sounds like von Willebrand's disease. Von Willebrand's disease is a big problem with Dobermanns and Rottweilers http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Von_Willebrand_disease |
