Hey all,
I've been trying to come up with ideas for making extra money & ran across this: https://www.uber.com/ It seems like a decent deal and something fun to do on my Friday nights instead of hanging out alone. Do any of you guys have any experience with this & what do you think so far? Do you make decent money? |

I use uber multiple times a week. I love it, never have to even take my wallet out.
I've only used UberX a couple of times, it was still a good experience. edit: my buddy drove for uberX for a week or two while finding a new job, I can ask him how the money was. |

I've used the service and love it. Cabs around here are infrequent and often sketchy as hell.
I'd love to drive for them, but it seems like still a pretty gray area as far as insurance. I asked my carrier about it and they do not cover you for anything to do with being a car for hire, and would likely cancel me if they found out, so I didn't. They didn't even offer a commercial option. I have read that Uber is doing something about that, but I haven't heard it yet. Lyft has additional liability insurance for their drivers, but you still run into the same problem with fixing your car if there's an accident. |
