http://www.foxnews.com/politics/2014/03/21/issa-subpoenas-atf-over-mismanaged-gun-operation/?intcmp=latestnews

Rep. Darrell Issa has subpoenaed the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives for information about what he calls a "dangerously mismanaged" program, which originally was launched to get crime guns off the street.

The House Oversight and Government Reform Committee, which Issa chairs, has been looking into complaints about the program for months. Under the operation, ATF agents set up storefronts in multiple cities to try and entice criminals to sell their crime guns, unwittingly, to the government so they could be traced. But their tactics and missteps, including using mentally disabled people, drew criticism.

Issa, R-Calif., claimed this week that the ATF has stonewalled him by withholding documents and shown a "complete lack of cooperation."

"I have no choice today but to issue the enclosed subpoena," he wrote to ATF Director B. Todd Jones. "... The time for hollow promises is over."

Nah, he'll wind up committing Italian Suicide.

He'll stab himself in the back 5 or 6 times and then throw himself off a 4th story roof.

Really strange how the ATF suddenly started using all these new "crime-stoppingcreating" techniques the second that Democrats are in charge of the operations...

Serious question here, forgive my ignorance, but has there ever been one of these Congressional hearings that ever resulted in anything more than a slap on the wrist? That IRS lady needs to be standing trial for treason, and the head of the ATF needs to be standing trial for running a criminal organization, but instead they just go into some stupid hearing and lie or plead the fifth and that's the end of it.

This

While the F&F inquiries have yet to yield the justice that is deserved,  it has shed more light on the subject then otherwise would have been.  And perhaps more importantly,  it has shown us what politicians and public figures we can count on to be unwavering truth seekers....and which ones just pay lip service and maintain the status quo...

That won't be necessary.
His chairmanship ends when this Congress adjourns. Since there are elections this year there won't be sufficient time to actually do anything about looking into this matter.
Like the hearing on the IRS, this is all about convincing the base that the party is doing something about issues which the base cares about. As is always the case, the party wants money and votes.

I don't think we are letting them out because they have been good. It's cause we are out of room for the ones already locked up.

Frankly I think we need to dispose of the ones who are guilty as all hell and have life sentences. Plus bringing back corporal punishment. A lot of criminals don't see jail as much of a punishment because they are used to it and have friends there. I don't think there are many people who will not mind getting the shit beaten out of them with a bull whip or whatever. Seems like more justice for the victims than just warehousing dirtbags.

Naah, they will find something, anything to indict him on.
All these guys have some dirt on them and if they don't, some will be manufactured.
Issa is a businessman, surely there is some tax, labor or enviornmental law he has violated that they can nail him with.
Or create a PAC, funded with DNC money, gathered via some form of illegal bundling, donate the money to his reelection campaign and nail him once it is accepted.

And unlike Nixon, this administration has no sense of right and wrong that is anywhere close to "middle America", nor a belief that the office of POTUS shouldn't get soiled.
