Had 3 of them. Piece of cake. Posted Via AR15.Com Mobile Only problem you always end up losing more and more cartilage. Between football and construction I ended up having three each per knee. Only way to fix it after the cartilage is gone is replacement. |

Don't know about meniscus repair but I did have full joint replacements for both knees in 2012. Joint replacements are excellent; but the staph infections I got in both were just the beginning of problems that continue today. Levaquin was prescribed for both incidents. Side effect was virtual destruction of tendons & ligaments - unreparable because the damage is genetic. The pain was absolutely incredible for about 72 hours both times.
For any infection AVOID LEVAQUIN! Google "Levaquin tendonitis" to learn what can happen to you. |

Piece of cake. Had my left knee meniscus done last year. It was torn and hurt like a bitch to walk as the tear was folding over itself in my joint space. While in there, they found a cyst on my ACL.... I walked out of the Surgery Center a few hours after the procedure... Good Luck!

Whatever you do, don't try to walk on it the moment you get home from surgery, no matter how good it feels. I made that mistake; didn't use the crutches the doctor told me to use. A few hours later, when the anesthesia wore off completely, I really regretted walking around the house.
Recovery was quick and after a few weeks it felt good as new, but you will probably always know when the barometric pressure changes .

Had my ACL replaced 4 weeks ago today. First few days suck. Stock up on stool softeners, you'll hate your first visit to the toilet.
Besides that I've been walking without crutches for almost 2 weeks and without a brace for 1. Flexibility is still an issue, but it gets better each day |

Yeah when I fucked up my "good" knee they told me 8 weeks non load bearing "if" they could repair. They couldn't, I have no cartilage now--feels like gravel in my joint any time I move it. Its bad enough you can hear it. You just described my left knee before I had it replaced. |
