Nothing you can't by-pass with a paper clip. *

Let's mandate them on all cars.  We'd be so much safer!

The new ones will rat you out if you bypass them, and lockout the car from starting.
We had a customer bring in her car with one in it.  And I flatout fucking refuse to blow into that shit, so I jumped the starter to get it into the shop.  Well, when it came time for her to blow into it to take her car.  The thing had a message on the screen, something about unauthorized starting and it had to get unlocked by someone in charge of that shit.

Probably works better as an embarrassment tool than what it was designed for.

well according to MADD they have lowered dui deaths by 67% and they do not cost taxpayers anything, also having someone start the car for you is a felony in some states

It isn't supposed to solve anything. It's punishment. As it should be.

Either you own your car, or you don't.

I used to work with a guy who had one on his car. Seemed to work keeping him from DUI. Other things too.

Once a nice looking girl at work asked him for a "ride home" if you know what I mean, he blew here off, told her he was going a different way. Next day he tells me he was just too embarrassed to let her see he had to blow in a tube to start his car!

And as far as it being his car, .gov should butt out, yada, yada, he had a choice in the matter. He could have easily said no to the interlock. No problemo. Of course he would have done jail time instead...

No one even owns their houses, let alone their cars.
