As the son of a father that died of lung cancer (50+ years of Marlboro reds), I can tell you with certainty that you have chosen wisely.

That and you no longer stink...

Congratulations! I quit years ago, so I can attest it isn't easy. If you can make it a year without smoking, you can make it a lifetime.

ETA: Just counted back and realized it will be 15 years for me this coming summer. Time flies.

Congrats. I will be 2 years on July 1st. Feel so much better. I tried all the gimicks, pills, patches, gums etc.. None worked, just one day I said I had enough and never picked up another one. No withdrawals like I had before and was the easiest thing to me.

Congrats!

12 years for me.

I quit in October 2012.

It's supposed to get easier, but so far I still want one every day.

Easiest thing I ever did was quitting.  And am I ever glad.  My Dad never could.

I quit too.  Alchohol and all carbs..................For Lent.   My carb intake has been less than 15 grams for the last 2 weeks.

I've lost 6lbs.   Can't say I feel any better.  Only another 30 days and 9lbs to go.  Now back to my protien shake and salad for lunch.

I never picked up the cigarette habit but I congradulate all those that have the will power to quit.  You all just lowered your risk of stroke by 80%.
