So the battery light keeps coming on, flickers a lot.  No rhyme or reason, everything works as it should, no deviation in headlights or radio reception or anything like that.  Alt swings 13.7 with nothing and everything electrical on, batt and alt connections clean and tight.  Both bat and alt less than a year old.  1998 Escort sedan; 36-37 MPG at 80 MPH on cruise, running tight..

Is there some sensor tripping that should be replaced?

Thanks.

I hate me some Ford trucks; but the cars are OK.  This is my 7th Escort , 97 to 2000; I used them for my business back in the day.  I also maintained them.  Never had this problem before...

that and check (or add to) your grounds.

Google around for how to check your alternator with a Volt/Ohm meter

I can never remember all the steps
