Good day at the range yesterday. 40 yard line. (expensive though, at $15.00 a round)

That is a love and hate moment. Love that you can do it and hate that you just ruined two custom arrows.

ETA: At least you had field points and not broadheads.

I've had two triples before. A double is not uncommon at all. I shoot at different "dots". Arrows are expensive.

Sometimes skill (or luck!) has a price and you found it.  It's $30!

Time to use different aiming points for each arrow.

Pffft it's more fun to put a shot in all three holes.

Nice.

I have never had a clean Robin Hood like that.   I have shaved fletching and splintered arrow shafts, but never anything as precise as what you did.

Arrows are spendy, shoot at different spots.

Same here. I shoot a Martin Savannah recurve now and put together my own cedar arrows (no spline tester). I'm really inconsistent with the cedar shafts but have recently bought some expensive carbon shafts. I have been unable to test them yet, but once I do, I'll hopefully determine then if it's been me all along or the arrows.

I had two shots where I nicked fletching yesterday, then one of the hits sounded funny...

it was one of those days where everything was flowing Zen-like. My 40 yrs shots were looking like my 30 yard shots. Now to get my 50's under control as much...

I remember getting in to archery and wanting to get a robin hood.  Then, as many have said, it got expensive.  I started shooting different spots.

OP looks like you're dialed in... now expand your practice range.  80-100 yard practice makes 40 feel like a chip shot.

I did the same shot 5 months ago, I have the arrows hanging on my wall.

Never had a triple, but multiple doubles...ACC's are expensive so I no longer shoot groups.

The Maxima Reds seem to group better than the others I tried, but they're spendy at about $15 each. (I bought 1/2 dozen to try) Looks like I will invest in another 1/2 dozen and set aside enough for my elk hunt in Sept.

I've probably ruined two dozen arrows but I've never had one stick perfectly in the center.

what's funny, is the second arrow is one I had to replace the nock and collet on from a strike at the 20 yard line. I had restrung the bow and was re-sighting it in...

I'm using a Bear Motive 6 at 65 lbs.  It's a nice shooting fairly fast bow. (I'm going to have to break out my chrono and measure it )

I think I'll get comfortable at 50 and 60 first. I have a 5 pin sight and 60 is where it's maxed out to.  It's an interesting sight. You move the sight cage to sight it in for 20 yards, then use a dial for the 30 yard pin. Once the 30 is set, all the other pins are spot on.

That's pretty cool.  I've fired multiple rounds (not with a bow, I'm somewhat below average on a GREAT day with archery) through the same hole on multiple occasions.

I don't let the fact that it is always completely unintentional ruin my accomplishment.

That's a cool sight.  I saw something similar the other day.

My hunting sight is a 4 pin that I set at 20, 30, 40, & 50.  During summer practice season I switch to the HHA single pin slider.  It let's me stretch it out to 100+.

If you're not a member at archerytalk.com, you should go look around.  Lot of good info over there.  Warning the bow disease can get expensive like the black rifle disease.
