For those here who scrap metal, how much are you getting per pound in your area?

for what metal?

Aluminum 50-75 cents a pound
Copper .80 -2.90 per pound
tin and iron 180-230  a ton.

Steel? 180/ton, San Diego County. Tops I've seen is a bit over 400/ton, but that was a while ago.



Haven't done copper or Al in a while, I try to let it all build up until it's a full trailer load.

Seems like I heard (around my parts) that the scrap yards here will not pay for loads less than 200 lbs.  You can leave it there but no $$ are paid.  You might call ahead.
