Quoted: Here are a couple of Questions: 1)Which Gun out of all the ones you own is the best shooter? [red]Probably my FAL.[/red] 2)Which Gun out of all the ones you own,do you not shoot as much cause it hurts your shoulder? [red]The .410 barrel on my Springield M6 makes a bright red bruise on my shoulder in the shape of the butt. It doesn't feel good.[/red] 3)Out of all the Guns you own, which would you say is your most favorite one? [red]FAL.[/red] [s]Mona[/s] Jim |

Best shooters in order: 1-DPMS AR-15 2-1914 SMLE #1 Mk III (no *'s) 3-1921 Springfield M1903 MK I 4-1916 GEW 98 Mauser 5-1915 Steyr M-91 6-Ruger 10/22I 7-1938 Turkish Mauser Worst shooters (in order of Suck) 1- 1915 Moisin Negant M-91 2- No 3 Enfield (P-14) 3- Colt Army special (pistol) Although I will not admit to not shooting any gun due to recoil, I'd have to say the ones with the heaviest recoil are: 1- 1915 Steyr M-95 2- Custom Built .54 cal Flint long Rifle (very light rifle with very poorly designed decorative brass Buttstock) 3-Reproduction 1st model brown bess, .75 Cal My favorite? AR-15, of course! Followed By the Enfield, Springfield, GEW 98, and the 10/22 |

Quoted: 2) My Model 1899A Savage short rifle in .303 Savage. Twenty rounds at one sitting is my absolute limit. The cresent butt has me near tears. I have one of them, BTW were ya get ammo for it? Or at least brass? I lost the last two boxes I had in a move about 15 years ago, and the few times I think of it I have never been able to find ammo for it. |

I have one of them, BTW were ya get ammo for it? Or at least brass? I stocked up years ago. I have enough to last the rest of my lifetime. However, new brass can be formed by FL sizing .220 Swift hulls and trimming. Pretty easy stuff. Don't let any of these dingbat "commercial loaders" bluff you into buying this crap formed from non-standard cases like .303 British (unrelated), .30-30 WCF, etc. That's unsafe. |

Thanks, 220 swift, Ill have to remember that. BTW as I think of it I dont remember mine being a paint to shoot. But it has been 20 years I guess since I shot it. |

I like the crescent butt, fits the shoulder just right! I lost the end of my ram-rod in my 50 cal (CVG) hawkin black rifle! So took the heavy brass crescent butt plate off and machined it to fit my model 94 Winchester! The Hawkins rifle with a 530 grain bullet, and 100 grains pyrodex didn't kick any harder than the 30/30 win. So the curved butt-plate sure enough tamed that Winchester! It was a cattle ranch gun, either left in the scabbard or behind the front seat long enough to be a prop up on the creek or not much except good shooter not much to look at 100.00 gun! But that curved butt sure tamed her! Only had one gun that got the best of me 10 gauge 3 1/2 mag! Shot it three times, then it got traded into another 50 cal Hawkins black powder! Best or most accurate 1937 Colt Heavy Barrel 38S&W six inch revolver! Hits where you point it,not big on home defense guns ,but cheap and so fun to shoot! Favorite Thompson 10mm till it blows up in my face, feels just about the same as my 44 mag, just not quite the same(hard to explain) Bob [:D] |
