I was thinking about one in my front yard actually, but then I remembered that I need to push snow across that spot, and my tractor tires would spin like crazy trying to go across a rink.

One of my son's hockey friends had one in his basement, under the garage. Synthetic ice. Maybe the size of a racquetball court.

When I lived out in the country, some people down the road had a nice hockey rink setup with lights and boards

That's awesome.

I've been thinking about making a mini rink, but there's a lake within walking distance of my house, figured I'll live vicariously through arf.

I would love to have one. My buddy made a small one for his kid last year.

I've tried a few times, but I always had sub-par results. Everything has to be a lot more level than you think, and if you have sandy soil, you pretty much need a liner. I gave up. If I can't do it well, I hate wasting my time doing it. I'm kind of a quitter that way.

I have a completely iced over pond. It's buried in about two feet of snow.

Same here.

Half the time it's too cold to skate anyway, so fuck a buncha snowblowing.

If I get a wild hair, the rink in town is heated and 5 bucks.

I had one as a kid. Used it for a couple of years.

It was made of a low corrugated metal ring and a plastic liner. Kinda cool, but skating wasn't really my thing.

I have a "nice rink" liner with homemade wolmonized boards (low). They make a complete kit for around 3 bills, but just buy the liner and make your own boards.

It's under three fucking feet of snow right now, I'll get ya pics in the spring
