How hard is silver solder when it cools?  I've got an  goofy motorcycle project and I need to "fill" a spot behind a bearing race.  It can't welded it but I was thinking brazing or maybe silver solder.  Any information would be appreciated.

What is the base material?  Would epoxy work?

It is pretty hard.    Is this the side of the race that will be pressed onto a shaft or into a recess or are bearings going to roll over it?      If it is in contact with the actual roller bearings I would braze it with bronze.

Behind the race in the frame.  Epoxy is also a possibility.  I'm in the brainstorming phase still

Solder should work.     Heat the race evenly.

AR500?  Harder than tool steel.

Silver is pretty hard depending on what alloy % you are using. If this is going onto aluminum, you have a problem......the heat for braze and silver is way to high and will corrupt cast alum easily. I'ld tig weld a bit of filler rod in before trying to braze it.

Luckily it is a steel frame.  It is just one of those goofy ass projects that I'd like to fix without opening a whole can of worms with doing a bunch of major fabricating.  Welding would be much better!

Ok weld it.
I mean you don't have to weld it you can fix it anyway you want but I would weld it.
