Progressive and gun control advocate (2% milk.) Good song but I remember that he is a commie when I hear it too. Dam shame aint it Indeed. I was pretty disappointed when I saw him in concert, and he explicitly stated he was pro-gun control before playing "Devil's Right Hand." Somewhat ironic, given one of the charges he was convicted of was "weapons possession." |

He sings the Ricky Bobby NASCAR theme song "Hardcore Troubadour", whoo NASCAR!!!
Yeah but Steve Earle is a bit of a douche, meh. Dave |

I like the song , I did not realize he was a liberal , but am not shocked , 7 wives is impressive . He's not just a liberal. He's a certifiable leftist wacko. He's in the zip code with Sean Penn, Harvey Weinstein, Ed Asner. He's anti-gun, pro-social justice, pro-state collectivism, etc.. That said, he can write, pretty good vocalist, and my favorite song of his "The Mountain" Kona Big Wave |

He really didn't turn into a complete asshole till he quit heroin. Since then, he's been a full blown cunt. But being from western North Carolina and of Scots-Irish blood, this song is quite dear to me. In fact, I'm gonna go pour a little clear liquid that I only keep around for fuel/cleaning/de-icing, never for human consumption. Steve Earle also had "Me and the Eagle" and "Johnny Come Lately" as great songs. |

My tablet is acting stupid. It would be nice if someone could embed, "Tom Ames Prayer." Saw the man play in a small venue here in Sioux Falls a few years ago.
Figured out a long time ago that if I paid attention to musicians politics I'd be stuck listening to a pretty limited playlist. |
|
I knew he was anti-war or whatever you call it, but (based on his music) alway thought he was more of a just-leave-us-alone kinda guy politically. You can label that whatever you want. This is why I'd rather not know a damn thing about artists and actors. That being said, I like a lot of his stuff. The entire Townes Van Zant cover album is excellent. spf |

This song isn't about North Carolina, although it is about 30 mins away.
It is based in Johnson County, TN Read this. I live 15 mins from the road...you won't know if you aren't from here because the sign is always stolen. |

Quoted: Dude, if he did a cover, it cain't be better than the original! Thank you very much, spf Quoted: Quoted: kinda surprised to hear he's a lib. 'cause the song is four minutes of "will not comply", and one of my favorites, right up there with "country boy can survive". Dude, if he did a cover, it cain't be better than the original! Thank you very much, spf ...unless there's snow on the ground, then we cain't do any of it. ![]() |
