Anyone heard of this stuff before? “It’s a like spare tire. You put it in the trunk until you need it.” A half-gallon of Magic Tank equals a half gallon of gas and Bistritzky says it has a shelf like of ten years. “It’s made from gasoline, but what we’ve done is taken out all the highly flammable components,” says Bistritzky. |
| Dunno about the "taken out all flammable things" stuff, but as far as shelf stable goes: Aspen Gas is shelf stable for 10 years if the container is unopened. (You may know it as "less unhealthy" chainsaw gas but they also make it for cars, generators and the like where you might want a bit of shelf stable stuff around for an emergency. Very expensive though) |

Lol.
Sounds like all that it would do is raise the level of your "empty" tank enough for the pickup of your pump to skim what is left out of the tank, and then mix with your next full tank of gasoline without the ill effects of using something like water to do the same thing. Better off just carrying gas if you're going to do that. |

IiRC. It is kerosene. You are mixing the last gallon or so of gas with kerosene to make something that in a warm engine should just run well enough to get you to a pump.
10 year shelf life is a good point. I never let that gallon of gas I carry to get older than a month. My gas gauge is a bit dodgy. |

Where you can easily rotate the fuel in the can out whenever you fill up?
