| I just purchased a glock 19 gen 3 and I am curious to what extractor to order to put in my spare parts bag? I hear stuff about the Glock 19 shittin' brass back into faces. |

Quoted: I have 2 of everything when it comes to parts whether it works or not. I must have a spare so if something does break there is no down time, I just install the new part and continue on. 2nd Glock is quicker than replacing parts. Just sayin'. (But I have two dozen of the buggers and just SBRed one, so don't go by me... I just ain't right. |

Planning to call a "timeout" so you can do gunsmithing in the middle of a fight? |

I am thinking of doing one since I have limitations up here in ct now |

If the 9mm brass is hitting you in the face you are probably limp wristing. Here is the OEM Loaded Chamber Indicator extractor for that 9mm - Glock Extractor LCI 9mm You'll need these also - Glock Spring Load Bearing LCI 9mm and Glock Extractor Depressor Plunger Spring and Glock Extractor Depressor Plunger 9/40/357/45GAP |

If something starts giving me problems, I replace it with my second and then fix the problem at my leisure. |

Almost all of the 19s I have shot throw brass in my face. It has nothing to do with your wrists. It is a flaw in the gun. Your going to have to send it to Glock so they can fix it. You should have gotten an M&P. One problem with your theory there boss.... Smith doesn't make anything comparable. You either have the fullsize M&P, which is too big, or the M&Pc, which is too small. |

I think I am going to like this set-up, esp. when my pending .45 can comes through. |

BTTF is a very real GEN4 9MM Glock problem. It's not limp-wristing, it's not shooter error.
Even on Glocktalk, the specific cause has never been determined. It does seem that more recent production suffers from it less. Some folks have gotten good results by removing their extractor and polishing the flat areas of it so it moves more freely in the grove it goes in, so it easily drops out during disassembly. If the OP owns an older (pre GEN4) GEN3 G19, there shouldn't be any extraction/ejection issues. Oh, and OP? Stop being so damn OCD about stuff. The reason to buy a Glock is that they run and run and run and run. There are 1st Gen G17s out there with 100k+ round through them, with nothing more than new mag springs. |

You should have gotten an M&P. Pre 2010 or so, this was not a problem. It seems to have popped up about the time they switched to a LCI extractor. My Aug 2012 manufactured G19 exhibited the BTF problems. I put the 30274 ejector in and bought an extractor from Apex and it cured the problem |

| Well hey thanks a lot everybody. You've been helpful. I buy spare parts regardless if there is a problem or not because I shoot enough to where parts will eventually break. I have cycled the slide with snap caps vigorously and the shells eject consistantly to the 3-4 o'clock. Haven't had time to shoot yet and it is driving me nuts. |

Shoot about 500-2000 rounds. Those ejection problems seem to happen somewhere around that count. When it happens, have a good shooter shoot your gun to confirm it is ejecting brass that way. Then look for remedies.
My Glock 17 had that problem and is now under control with the new ejector and extractor. |

Both were purchased new on the same day actually and have cases dated in the same month. |
