How come I see lots of custom made 1911's and revolvers, but few custom for other varieties of pistols?  Why no custom Beretta's or GLOCKS and such?

Aside from the fanboys saying they are perfect, Why is there not some Dan Weson of GLOCKS?

Enlighten me

The same reason you don't see many custom framing hammers.

Utilitarian gun is utilitarian.

IOW, people discerning enough to spec out a custom gun have better taste.

Glocks are one of the most customized pistols on the planet.  You've never seen a Glock race gun? Seriously?

Custom 1911's are what you show your buddies.

Glocks are what you show your enemies.

I know you said glock but you also said "other varieties of pistols."

I think stippling is dumb. I'm just sayin'.

One of my LGS's carries custom Glock's in their inventory. They go through MOD1 (that's also a local company). They recently took in a crop of used G22 police trade in's and sent 3 or 4 of them to MOD1 and had them completely worked over. They turned out really nice. You'd never know that they were used LE trade in's. I actually couldn't tell until they told me.

ETA: Sorry, I had to sneak a few pics of some nice M&P's in there.

Here's some of their work:

There's a couple of companies that mount the RMR toward the rear. It's supposed to help keep debris from the ejection port off the lens,

?

I've got no personal experience with pistol mounted optics, but I've read that some people prefer that arrangement. It also eems like that would be extra milling, as opposed to leaving rear sight in factory spot, but I dont know much about it.
