Looking at getting a used Onan DKD 7.f fo reasonable price, but a couple of issues. First, the thermostat housing is cracked slightly. That can be welded, or a new one bought for $50ish. Next is the radiator has a lot of repairs. I think it needs replaced. The Onan part number for it is 185-2274 and all I am seeing is the $700 to $1,1000 range. Anyone have an idea of how to find a cheaper radiator?

Also, what is the normal operating temp for a engine like this (3 cyl Kubota)? High 100s? Low 200s?

Thanks

My 3cyl. Kubota tractor runs about 170F,

you can buy different thermostats from 160-180 depending on needs.

Get the measurements of the radiator either from the part number or actual, and do some internet shopping.

I know MAC's radiators in Portland OR had a huge selection when Mrs. Kubota's radiator cracked.

The price you are looking at paying is because it says "Onan" IMHO

Onan = Cummins

Might also be able to get it re-built/re-cored as well.

Check with a radiator shop and see what it would cost to recore yours.
