Was this the same guy selling that delicious jerky?

Nope... just the guy who wrote "No Easy Day" who was on the UBL raid and jumped into the the Indian Ocean tandem with an analyst on that op.

Here is the exact quote from him...

”As for the snipers on the capt p rescue,,,,, HK416! No fancy sniper rifles used at all!”

I'm pretty sure that quote is from that dudes Instagram. I would believe the discovery channel quotes over that shit though.

I have little problem believing a SEAL would have an Instagram, actually.

Yes it is...

From what he said in the book, which wasn't shown in the movie, was a few SEALs boarded the life raft right after the initial shots, and shot the pirates a few more times with their pistols to make sure that they were dead.

I did too, but seriously there is a guy who posts as Mark Owen on it. LBT and S&S Precision say it's a legit account too. Install Instagram and see for yourself. I still am skeptical that it is bullshit.

He is retired now, and is promoting gear and another book he wrote.

It has been verified....

Several pics from this thread are from his instagram account.

I thought I remembered seeing him post that. I haven't seen the Capt. Phillips movie, but I do remember the part you are talking about in the book. He's put pictures up of that tandem rig he jumped with too, right?

Seal museum says "Mk 25" but wiki article linked says "SR-25".

I googled Mk25, and it's a handgun. Something seems off here.

The Mk25 is the Navy designation for the P226 that the SEALs are issued. The Mk11 is the Navy's designation for the KAC SR-25. Someone has their crap mixed up.

What kind of ball sack powder were the SEALS using on this mission?

Its was pretty damn good shooting. What ever they used.
Even though it was only about 130 yards, you had movement of
both crafts and bullet deflection shooting thru glass. Get Some!!
